ISO 14064 Lead Verifier & Validator & Carbon Footprint Verification
ISO 14064 is a series of international standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that provide guidelines and requirements for greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and verification. The ISO 14064 standard is designed to help organizations measure, report, and verify their greenhouse gas emissions and removals accurately and transparently.
There are three parts to the ISO 14064 series:
- ISO 14064-1: Greenhouse gases – Part 1: Specification with guidance at the organization level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals:
This part of the standard provides principles and requirements for organizations to quantify and report their GHG emissions and removals. It includes guidance on how to establish organizational boundaries, set the scope of emissions, and track emissions sources. It also outlines principles for reporting, data management, and validation and verification. - ISO 14064-2: Greenhouse gases – Part 2: Specification with guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring, and reporting of greenhouse gas emission reductions or removal enhancements:
Part 2 focuses on GHG accounting at the project level, particularly for activities aimed at reducing emissions or enhancing removals. It provides guidelines for project developers to measure, monitor, and report GHG reductions or enhancements accurately. This can be particularly relevant for entities engaged in carbon offset projects. - ISO 14064-3: Greenhouse gases – Part 3: Specification with guidance for the validation and verification of greenhouse gas assertions:
Part 3 outlines the requirements and guidance for the validation and verification process for GHG assertions, whether at the organization or project level. This part is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and credibility of GHG data and claims
ISO 14064 is often used by organizations, governments, and other entities as a framework for measuring, reporting, and verifying their GHG emissions and removals.
It helps them demonstrate their commitment to addressing climate change and provides transparency in their environmental efforts. Additionally, it can be useful for organizations aiming to participate in carbon markets, as well as for those interested in understanding their carbon footprint and developing strategies to reduce emissions.
We are ISO 14064-1, ISO 14064-2, ISO 14064-3 Lead Validator & Verifier
Certified RINA, Certificate Number: RIND/2023/134
Our roles are critical for ensuring the accuracy and credibility of GHG data and assertions, which is important for transparency and accountability in the context of climate change and sustainability efforts.
ISO 14064-1
– As Lead Validator, we are responsible for verifying that an organization’s GHG accounting and reporting processes align with the requirements of ISO 14064-1.
We ensure that the organization’s GHG inventory is accurate, transparent, and reliable.
We work as an internal or external expert. We have the necessary expertise to validate GHG data and ensure compliance with ISO 14064-1.
– As Lead Verifier, we are responsible for conducting an independent verification of an organization’s GHG emissions and removals inventory, ensuring that it complies with ISO 14064-1.
We are third-party professionals with expertise in GHG verification. We provide an objective assessment of the organization’s GHG data.
ISO 14064-2
– As Lead Validator, we are responsible for validating an organization’s GHG assertions.
This involves assessing the accuracy and completeness of the data and the reliability of the methodologies used to calculate GHG emissions and removals.
– AS Lead Verifier, we are responsible for independently verifying an organization’s GHG assertions, ensuring that they are accurate and consistent with the requirements of ISO 14064-2.
We provide an objective assessment of the organization’s GHG claims.
ISO 14064-3
– As Lead Validator, we are responsible for validating GHG assertions related to specific GHG projects.
This involves assessing the accuracy and completeness of project data and the reliability of GHG calculations and reductions achieved.
– As Lead Verifier, we are responsible for independently verifying GHG assertions related to GHG projects, ensuring they comply with ISO 14064-3 requirements.
We provide an objective assessment of project-related GHG claims.
